City Square Mall,
Even our shopping mall is a green building, at City Square
Mall, they used integrated photovoltaics to harness solar energy. By using LED,
lifts, escalators and travellators with auto-lighting and slow-down features,
it saves more energy compared to other regular mall. There are intensive green
roof to lower the heat gained and twin chute pneumatic waste removal system to
provide fresher air. The mall also encourage others to save our earth by giving
priority parking to hybrid cars that have less harmful impact on the environment,
in addition it also included a real time display of indoor environmental
performance, to raise awareness. By doing all this, City Square Mall saves
around $2million by using less energy, thus I hope all the other many mall in
Singapore can be inspired to do the same.
