One Green
Building I would like to touch on is the Parkroyal hotel in Singapore. The Parkroyal
hotel consists of a few features such as the skylights, solar panels, energy-saving elevators and
escalator which were built to conserve energy. The solar panels plays a part in
conserving energy by absorbing solar energy and using them as power sources.
This helps reduce the amount of electricity usage. Furthermore, an efficient
energy saving skylight helps minimize the energy used in heating, cooling and lighting
as they provide daylighting and ventilation. Lastly, the energy saving
elevators has in cab sensors and softwares which provides sleep mode, turning
off lights and ventilation. All these features helps reduce the energy used to
move the elevators.
